Week 1 of training is in the books. It was not as productive as I had wanted it to be. I did not keep to the schedule…. Wednesday is when I became exhausted and made excuse after excuse to not go out and run. This threw off the rest of the week.
Thursday morning I ran 3 Miles which I was proud of. I woke up and ran what I had set out for despite feeling exhausted early on in the run. I wanted to turn around, hop on the subway, or call an uber. But I didn’t. One of my favorite things (sometimes), about running in Philadelphia is that random people will cheer me on. I ran past a group of girls who looked like they had been out all night long and they cheered, “You run, honey!”.
Thursday night my boyfriend and I went down to Maryland for a weekend away with friends. There was a lot of drinking and unhealthy eating involved so I did not get out to run.
I learned last week that it is important to stick with the schedule I set out for in the beginning of the week. It is easy to skip days, but because of life it throws everything else off. Today I was determined to make up for my lost training days, which you can read about here! Today made me realize that no run is going to be easy, which is the point of training. So once again, no more excuses!
